Saturday Sept. 10th 4 AM – 7 PM at the Movement and Learning Community Center of Asheville (FBFC)
Often Dance is something done to music, where music is the guide and measure of movement. Contact Improv opens the body to other sources of inspiration for movement.
This month’s class before the jam, Inspiration for Movement: A Senseploration, will explore how our sensations, internal and external, can be inspiration for movement.
An all levels class, it’s perfect for those with no CI experience and all levels of physical awkardness. The class will also provide a rich material and practice for the most advanced of dancerly bodies and minds.
We’ll work through a handful of individual, partner and group scores which call upon our various senses (emotional, physical, conceptual, etc.) to inspire our movement, deepening our connection with our bodies and relationship with the world around us.
The class will be followed by the regular CI Jam. Stay for both, or come for one.
Exploration facilitated by CJ O’Reilly
Class: Suggested *donation* $10 (none turned away for lack of funds – sign in before dancing)
Jam: $5 – Sign in before dancings
